New/Old Dress...

So... I am going to put Eliza in a pageant. The extreme cost was looking to quash my dreams and visions of Eliza's attire. I looked in the closet... determined to find something that could work for a pageant... I found a simple polka dot dress with pretty pink bows... Could it work??? I got some of the yards of tulle I had from making tutus... I sewed ruffles into it... I ended up making several feet of tulle ruffles. I then took and sewed these ruffles to the inside of the dress... While doing this I should have been a little more diligent in making sure to not sew the ribbon to the dress... and ended up having to use a seam ripper to fix what I did... I sewed the liner of the dress to the ribbon bows... It ended up turning out better than I could have imagined. There are several layers of tulle and it flares out... looks so cute... I also got a pair of kneehighs... to this I cut and sewed it, and then added a korker bow.

Total Cost of the Dress and Bow: $5.
